Conveyor & Temperature Control

D e s c r i p t i o n :
Our customer needs to cure a product as a function of time and temperature by controlling the speed of a conveyor and the chamber temperature through which the part passes.

O b j e c t i v e :
To define a cost effective system that can control the chamber's temperature, the conveyor's speed and ----- allow the machine's operator to enter speed and temperature in user units.

S o l u t i o n :
The Aromat and Warner family of products were chosen for this application. The PLC would "read" the temperature and speed values from the operator's panel and perform appropriate calculations. The PLC used these calculations to control the speed of a stepper motor and turn the heat on and off.
