>Patent Certification for the Special Tip for Lead-Free
|
In a general lead soldering process, the temperature is set at 320 ¡É~360 ¡É.
However, in a Lead-Free Soldering process, the temperature level must be increased to 370 ¡É~460 ¡É. So far, soldering iron tips have been made mainly of copper, and in order to prevent oxidization, the copper has been either iron-plated or chromlum-plated. Although this method is valid at length below 350¡É, the durabill¡¯ty of the plated layer significantly decreases when temperature rises above 350¡É, it precipitously oxidized and cracks are formed due to thermal expansion of the layers.
Therefore, a lot of problem arises as more and more Lead-Free Soldering takes place. The shortening of the changing period for tips will lead to lower stability in operations and higher number of inferior products. Also, the increased necessity for the high-price expendable article causes higher unit cost of production.
Thus, we would like to file a patent application for a newly-invented method:partial substitution of plate for alloy. This new method places special alloy material with higher theramal conductivity and higher intensity at the end of the tips, and this prevents the erosion while it contacts the soldering lead. Longer use of the tip in higher temperature can be guaranteed through this new method.
Also, increased stability and more economy can be achieved during Lead-Free Soldering Operations.
